Interview: Kinfolk Coaching with Chantelle Broughton

I had the pleasure of interviewing the founder of Kinfolk Coaching. I wanted to know more about how they can be of assistance to women in the tew.live.crew & our community. We are women who wear many hats and aiming toward our dreams & goals.

MEET CHANTELLE

Kinfolk Coaching is a community based nonprofit that engages the family in overcoming trauma. We work with women to promote self-care, self-love, self-respect. We do this through empowerment coaching where we develop a close relationship to our clients and hold them accountable to their goals.

•How does the empowerment coaching work and what should one know before booking?

Empowerment coaching is very individualized. We create an Individual Client Plan to address action steps and meet on a biweekly basis. We incorporate our ABCs of success into our coaching. Before booking we highly recommend a consultation. Coaching is not therapy and we never want to cross that line.

•Is there a choice in who they can choose to coach them?

At this time I am the only coach. My expertise is expansive so I have experience working with many people from all walks. The consultation will allow us to identify if we’re a match for one another. I do not accept any client whose needs fall outside of my scope.

•What are 5 main things you hope the community will gain from your organization?

  1. It truly takes a village.
  2. All relationships start with the relationship you have with yourself.
  3. Self-esteem is a bigger issue than our community is willing to admit and it should be taught at an early age.
  4. Affirmations are powerful. The power of the tongue is real.
  5. Kinfolk Coaching is here to help our community. We are a trauma focused agency and we want to assist families in overcoming behaviors that limit success.
